Consciousness is something that we know has many levels but of course, we have never been sure as to how many. That being said, I found a book recently that has me in awe!
Dr. David Hawkins who is a widely known authority when it comes to researching consciousness, in general, wrote the book I was referring to above and it is called Power vs Force. This book is unreal, I cannot get enough of it. I especially adore this piece because of something that is found within it.
Within this wonderful book, you will find something being referred to as the map of consciousness. The map of consciousness was developed by Hawkins himself and is an extremely powerful tool for many reasons. It is without a doubt one of the most empowering things I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
This map literally lists different levels of consciousness that we can attain. It is easily a critical piece of the puzzle that we have been missing. The conscious level we are at can tell us so much about where we are when it comes to our spiritual path. It is everything we see and so much more, it is how we perceive reality in general.
While I am going to list the 17 levels of consciousness below I am not going to go into too much detail about them as I do not want to give everything away. If after reading this article you feel you need to hear more please take the time to obtain and read Hawkins book. It will without a doubt change your life. It is a must-read for anyone hoping to advance on their spiritual journey.
The 17 Levels of Consciousness:
1. Shame
This is the lowest level, it puts you right above death, to say the least. Someone at this level is feeling humiliation in all ways possible. They have low self-esteem and can be quite paranoid. This person will literally want to be invisible.
2. Guilt
People on this level are cultivating destruction. They have an almost evil life view and condemn themselves and others. They are overwhelmed with feelings of remorse.
3. Apathy
This level is essentially a state of despair. People here are needy and are often seen as a burden. They are the people we usually tend to avoid.
4. Grief
People on this level feel extremely low. They are sad and often at a loss for words. For the most part, people vibrate at this level when going through something intense like losing a loved one.
5. Fear
This level is full of anxiety and rejection. People on this level go through a state of withdrawal and can be quite paranoid. This fear does not allow for personal growth.
6. Desire
Emotional craving is intense on this level. These people are longing for something they have not achieved just yet. They become addicted to their desires.
7. Anger
This is in some form hate. Anger expresses itself in many ways as I am sure you know. People on this level will be quite toxic.
8. Pride
These people will be experiencing a lot of scorn. It will seem as if nothing can be good enough. This creates an unfortunate environment.
9. Courage
This is where our states begin to change. It is essentially the very first waking point. Once you get here you are no longer moving along as a sleepwalker.
10. Neutrality
People on this level are not judgmental and see things for what they really are. They are happy in life and do not have to get their way. They are able to recognize their own powers.
11. Willingness
Individuals on this level are open to most things. They are not bound by the opinions of others and because of this are no longer limited. These people are full of passion.
12. Acceptance
At this point, you know the source is where you came from and you do not deny it anymore. You accept the truth and are willing to move forward. You begin seeking for resolution.
13. Reason
This level is one in which people seek out information and create their own thoughts. You will find most of history’s great thinkers are on this level. These people go over every single detail before reaching their conclusions.
14. Love
This love is pure and unconditional in every possible way. People on this level are not filled with lust or addiction at all. They are no longer rooted in pride.
15. Joy
This level is filled with compassion and comes from the moments we feel rather than an outside source. It is a point of view where someone sees the world as beautiful and has quite the positive attitude. People can sometimes go through this level for a short period after a near-death experience.
16. Peace
This is bliss in every aspect of the word. These are our spiritual teachers and those who make a difference when it comes to life itself. The view from here is nothing shy of perfect.
17. Enlightenment
This is the top. Once you get here you go right on to the source and become one with where we came from and are headed back to. You transcend time and space. This is our highest potential.
